Global Energy Monitor pegs Texas at 57.9 GW of methane gas capacity in development for behind-the-meter datacenter use, more than the next seven states combined, while Cleanview reports 90% of all 2025 behind-the-meter projects came online the same year and over 30% of proposed datacenters now plan to bypass the grid entirely.
CEO Toby Neugebauer and CFO Miles Everson both exited within days, the stock has shed 69% since its October IPO, and satellite analysis from Cleanview shows no construction has begun on Project Matador near Amarillo.
Cleanview identified 46 projects representing 56 GW of planned behind-the-meter capacity, roughly 30% of all tracked planned data center capacity, with 90% announced in 2025 alone.
Cleanview has identified 47 off-grid datacenter projects nationwide, with GW Ranch in West Texas consuming 8,000 acres and more electricity than Chicago via on-site gas and solar.
